We have all been hearing of and seeing pictures of the devastation in Haiti caused by the recent earthquake and I’m sure most of us have wondered what we could do to help.
Good News Baptist Church has set up the “Haiti Relief Fund” for just that purpose. Special offerings are being collected for Haiti. If you or your church would like to participate in this relief effort, please make checks payable to Good News Baptist Church and designate the check to the "Haiti Relief Fund."
Send checks to:
Good News Baptist Church
Haiti Relief Fund
6830 Eastern Avenue Southeast
Grand Rapids, Michigan 49508
The monies will be dispersed under the direction of Good News Baptist Church in conjunction with the leadership of Bibles International.
Dr. Hantz Bernard, Director of Bibles International and member of Good News Baptist Church, is originally from Haiti and will be travelling to Haiti in the near future to assess the need and check on his family and friends there. The members of Good News Baptist Church have provided Dr. Bernard with his plane fare to Haiti.
The Haitian church where Dr. Bernard pastored is still standing. However, the seminary building suffered some damage. The administrator of the seminary was teaching a class at the time of the earthquake and escaped injury. However, two seminary students were killed during the quake.
Please be in prayer for the people of Haiti, and give generously.
